Let’s make our way to the electrical underground for Homoelectric’s August bank holiday showdown, taking place on Saturday 25th August! Manchester’s Legends opens its doors every other month for Homo’s, Hetro’s, Lesbo’s, Don’t knows, Experimento’s and Disco Asbo’s. So, YES, THAT’S YOU, anyone is welcome to not just your regular gay disco!
Homoelectric has seen the likes of Robyn and Roisin Murphy on their mic, this time we welcome Will Tramp the all-round Manchester good egg who recently took the stage at Parklife and played a wicked set. There has been word that Will Tramp may be hitting the decks in a SuperTed mask, he may sweat and it may be heavy, but we think he should do it. Playing a back to back set with Mr Tramp will be The Lovely Jonjo who has recently risen in the ranks and had some attention from the Kitsune label crew.
If your sleazy and like to dance, this is definitely the place and night for you. Homoelectric started back in the 90’s as a spin off from the legendary Mancunian disco “Electric Chair.” This has always presented such a different vibe from what the gay scene has to offer. The Legends venue always ends up full, but not too full. So, you still have enough room to throw some well needed shapes!
Let your ears be soothed this summer by Homo’s resident DJ Jamie Bull, spoiling you rotten with his trade on remixes, re-fixes and re-edits. It will be the ultimate basement seduction. Coming along for this back to back session in the main room is Lucy Locket who will be bringing along her extensive disco library making nothing off limits. Don’t be afraid to get a sweat on with the rate of class coming from the decks.
With a choice of four rooms of musical deviance to shimmy through, we welcome you to ‘The Mineshaft’ which salutes the twosome; Trash-O-Rama VS Holestar who have surely met their match for this evening’s events.
On past nights I have always come away feeling completely fulfilled with the buzz of excitement still running through my body from Homoelectric. I guarantee this event will do the same for you.
As the Legends venue is to be demolished before the year is out, catch the last Homoelectric to see Pride, but look forward to the new venue in 2013!
