WHP Reveals 2012 Season Line-Ups

One of the most exciting moments in a Mancunians life is waking up to see The Warehouse Project line ups revealed for the coming autumn. That moment of uncertainty and mystery to who’s been booked and who’s playing together… This WHP season is possibly the most interesting to date with the reveal of the brand new venue in Trafford Park. Those who didn’t manage to get tickets for the Easter weekend earlier in the year, prepare to be completely amazed, the venue is absolutely massive… kind of like Store Street’s almighty big brother!

With the recent announcement from The Warehouse Project just two weeks ago, we are once again ready to fill our boots with more spicy names!  Friday 28th September is the Rinse 18th birthday special which see’s Katy B, Skream, Diplo, Jackmaster and Ben UFO awaken the old dog with some heeeaaaavy bass. Welcome To The Warehouse follows on the Saturday with an interesting appearance from Nicolas Jaar, Seth Troxler, Maya Jane Coles b2b Heidi and Maceo Plex.

WHP Presents sees partners in crime, Carl Cox and Richie Hawtin grace the decks, with fellow masters in techno; Loco Dice, Nina Kraviz and Yousef.  While SBTRKT curates and headlines the Saturday bringing us an african beat with the voice of an angel to assist. Four Tet, Caribou, Pariah and XXXY are also on this very electrifying bill.

The weekend after hosts possibly my favourite night, Bugged Out! On the 12th October, with Boys Noize, Simian Mobile Disco, Eats Everything, Fake Blood, Space Dimension Controller, Erol Alkan and Green Velvet all under one roof! With so many huge names, I think I might just explode when I get in there. The Saturday welcomes a much bassier carte du jour, with Sub Focus, Benga, Doom and Shy Fx all playing at the Ape Birthday special.

The Friday sees Bloc Party take to the stage on the Friday with Armin Van Buuren, Markus Schulz and Paul Van Dyk playing to all the Trance fans on the Saturday. Friday 26th October presents The Halloween special – curated by TEED, who will be stopping in as part of his UK tour. The 2 Bears, John Talabot and Drop The Mustard DJ’s are also set to trick and treat the guest’s with this truly spooky spectacular, making us scream with nothing but sheer excitement!

November starts off with an exciting night from Cocoon, expect some dirty underground vibes from the likes of Sven Vath, Ricardo Villalobos, Adam Beyer and Cassy. While the mainstream D&B and dubstep fans can expect one hell of a bass emporium with Chase & Status, DJ Fresh, Skream & Benga, Beardyman and Ms Dynamite playing till the early hours.

Thursday 8th November hosts a one of performance from Animal Collective while the Friday offers a very electronic and experimental line up, Flying Lotus, Jamie XX, Illum Sphere and Hessle Audio are amongst some of the acts at the WHP X RBMA event. Saturday night is for all the progressive house lovers out there with Laidback Luke, Eddie Halliwell, Steve Aoki and Sandro Silva set to take the night up up up and away!

Next weekend see’s things get heavy again with Hospitality presenting a drum and bass fuelled night with the likes of Netsky, Andy C & GQ, High Contrast and Camo & Krooked. Then knocking it down a post or two, Hot Creations Presents Paradise see’s deep house daddy; Jamie Jones play alongside Maceo Plex, Kerri Chandler, Miguel Campbell and Danny Daze.

Another favourite to DMM, Annie Mac Presents is on for a winner with Justice, Disclosure, Annie Mac, Claude Von Stroke, Cats n Dogz, Justin Martin and Skream all in the bag. Can’t wait for this! While Saturday gets deep with the sounds of Orbital, Modeselektor, Julio Bashmore, Scuba and Blawan.

Getting cooler into December, the 8th presents The Chemical Brothers in a no doubt captivating DJ set and the week after sees the ledged Fatboy Slim, join forces with some of the biggest names around. Pete Tong, Madeon, Basement Jaxx and Riva Starr join the king, for a fun night of funky beats. Crosstown Rebels host the last event on the calendar… but not the very last! With Damien Lazarus, Maceo Plex, Art Department, Amirali and Subb-An.

I could list names for days making us “eeee” with anticipation but you may as well check it for yourself over at www.thewarehouseproject.com where tickets can also be bought

Hideout Festival 2012 – Croatian Dance Music Festival Lineup Announcement

Hideout Festival 2012

With an incredible line-up announcement earlier this year, Hideoout Festival 2012, has had a massive amount of interest and tickets for Croatia’s World famous summer festival will be selling out fast. The exotic Isle of Pag, Croatia hosted the 2011 dance music festival and made huge waves amongst fans with its extensive line-up and idyllic location. Hideout 2012 is set to come back with a vengeance, as it supersedes the calibre set by the previous event and threatens to offer ticket holders the festival of a lifetime.

2012 Line-up Additions

This year the full festival site will open up on the Thursday evening, to add to the week’s entertainment. The programme for the night will be made up of residents, club partners and local talent, but kicking things off in immense style are two brand new additions to the line-up, both notorious DJ’s in their own right. Pioneering drum and bass originator from Brazil DJ Marky will host Kalypso, while Kompakt records founder and time-honoured techno influencer Micheal Mayer will take the helm in Papaya.

Two New Diverse Arenas

Hideout organisers have added not one but two new arenas to the programme, to accommodate the extensive line-up and for even more island enjoyment. This time around Zrce Beach’s Kalypso night club will be fully utilised as an arena during the festival. Recognised for its idyllic setting, thatch-roofed bars, beds, parasols and Palm Trees, this venue promises to bring club island paradise at its best. A far cry from Dance Music Manchester’s regular hangouts at the muddy Warrington fields of Creamfields festival, Global Gathering and Glastonbury’s wellington boots! (Not that we don’t absolutely love our festival wellies!)

As well as this, in place is a 5th arena, Hideout Beach Party, situated just up the road from Papaya, where a host of the festival’s DJ’s and club partners, as well as local acts, will be bringing some alternative party vibes. This addition will provide somewhere to warm up the night or recharge batteries before heading back to the festival’s main stages.

Camping

In line with the 2 new arenas, there is also increased accommodation space with the introduction of an all-new Hideout campsite, offering a most authentic experience. A campsite just a short distance from the festival’s location will give festival-goers the opportunity to sleep in the great Croatian outdoors, amongst the sounds of the sea from Saint Spirit (Sveti Duh) beach, neighbouring to Zrce.

The campsite will be complete with showers, toilet facilities, drinking water, a shop for basic amenities, a choice of 3 restaurants and regular buses running to and from the festival site. Hideout have also teamed up with UK Based Pod Pads to offer a premium camping experience.

More Boat Parties

This year there are no less than 16 boat parties setting sail from Novalja throughout the course of the week, running from Wednesday 27 th June to Sunday 1st July. Each vessel will be commandeered by a carefully chosen selection of the hottest labels and finest artists on today’s dance music scene and headed up by some of the most superlative artists in the main festival line-up.

Boat parties were deemed by many to be one of the chief highlights of Hideout 2011 and this year are set to excel themselves. Already sold-out, this year’s boats will offer the ultimate mix of acts, labels and club partners for 16 unforgettable parties just off the shores of Croatia’s Isle of Pag.

Introducing Hideout Daytime

Like the boat parties weren’t enough, this year Hideout Festival will host a colourful spectrum of onshore daytime Hideout Daytime activities in and around Zrce Beach. Like last year, pool parties will take place, at which some of the festival’s headline acts, as well as local extra talent, will perform – details for which are to be announced at a later date.

Brand New Installations

As a final garnish to the new and improved Hideout experience this year organisers are serving up, a range of atmospheric installations which will be constructed in and around the festival. Lighting up your pathways and providing beautiful spaces in which to party, fascinating decor will become the backdrop to the music. Geodomes will provide chill out areas and extra special Hideout branded décor will align each corridor and illuminate every corner.

2012 early bird tickets have already sold out and despite the unbridled sell-out success of last year’s inaugural festival, standard tickets remain at a mere £99 for all the 3 nights.

Easter Sunday (8th April 2012)

Rumours circulating around Mancunia about the whereabouts of the new WHP venue suggest Bowlers (Trafford Park), which although big enough cannot have the same atmosphere as the legendary Store St surely? What do you think? Have you heard any rumours?
