Judge Jules Creamfields Set Download

Judge Jules began DJing professionally back in 1987. He was quickly hired by the then-pirate radio station Kiss FM. He has been on Radio 1 since October 1997. When he first arrived, his show went out between 17:00 and 19:00 on Saturday evenings, ahead of Danny Rampling’s show. From the 31st July 2004, after the departure of Seb Fontaine from the station, his show was moved to between 19:00 and 21:00 on Saturday nights, ahead of Tim Westwood. The show was widely advertised as, “The UK’s Saturday Warmup”, or “The Weekend Warm-Up”. One of the most infamous jingles used on the show during this time described it as, “The Sound Of Saturday Night”. The show kept this slot until September 2007.

During those years, his music policy ranged from playing commercial to underground tracks, and much in between. The first segment of the show were taken by the Cut-Up Boys, who did a ten-minute mix featuring several dance tracks and acappellas playing simultaneously. The rest of the first hour was generally taken up by house music and the second hour featured trance music, although if they were broadcasting the show outside the studio, the music might vary.

MistaJam

MistaJam

Radio One Extra DJ Mistajam hits the decks in our fourth download from the phenomenal Creamfields in Warrington 2011.

MistaJam is an award-winning DJ and Radio presenter for BBC Radio 1, joining in 2008 and BBC Radio 1Xtra, joining in 2005.

His show on BBC Radio 1, taglined the “Saturday Night Soundclash”, is broadcast on Saturday nights between 11pm – 1am and is simulcast on BBC Radio 1Xtra. The show is part of Radio 1 & Radio 1Xtra’s Urban Music strand on Saturday nights. Musically, the show claims to represent Dubstep, UK Funky, Grime, Hip Hop, R&B, Drum & Bass, House, Reggae Dancehall and “everything in between”.

His BBC Radio 1Xtra show is broadcast Monday to Thursday between 7pm-10pm. The show covers the best new Urban music across the “broad spectrum” of genres and was intended to bridge the gap not only between the mainstream and specialist worlds but also between the genres. Taglined ‘the key to the underground’, the show also features his “Jam Hot” (record of the week) the “Daily Dose of Dubstep” weekly DJ guest mixes and regular sessions from the BBC’s Maida Vale Studios.

Since March 2011, as part of the show, the free Dubstep Download was launched and is available to UK listeners to download.

In June 2010 Adidas Originals approached Mistajam to host a video diary of Glastonbury Festival, including his DJ set in the East Dance Tent. The diary captures footage of interviews and Mistajam hanging backstage with his peers as well as footage of his hugely popular live set.

Mistajam kicked up a veritable snowstorm at the Volvo Snowbombing Festival 2011 in Mayrhofen, Austria. The Radio 1 and Radio 1Xtra DJ played numerous sets over the week and also hosted festival coverage for channel 4 online.

He has now got his own show on BBC Two called “No Hats, No Trainers”, which aired in May. This unique storyboarded magazine show explores current urban culture, with a desire to illuminate the very best of both underground and mainstream music from the UK and abroad. ‘No Hats No Trainers’ brings the freshness back for a half hour of real must watch television by providing music news, videos and interviews with some of the urban scenes biggest names. The show also provides a laugh by airing comedy sketches for the entertainment of all BBC2 viewers. The show was well received within its demographic and was commissioned for a second series, the first episode of which aired on 4 September 2010.
