Here at Dance Music Manchester, we love our dance music. Kinda comes with the name really. We love our music, the clubs, the scene but we have absolutely no idea how to DJ / produce. We leave that to the pros. When the guys at State Records invited us down to their studio to see how it’s done, we couldn’t say no.
We began to talk about the label’s beginnings, releases and what the future has in store.
Founded in 2011, the label has already had releases from Sonny Wharton, Sick Elektrik, Dom Kane, Aad Mouthaan and more. With summer schedule comprising of 2 releases a month until September, it looks as though the label is about to hit the big time. State already has two Track It Down top 10′s under it’s belt including holding the number 1 spot for over a week with the Aad Mouthaan remix of “For Her Pleasure”. The label has also had a few Beatport chart positions and aims to crack the top 10 before the year is through!
With upcoming releases from Venus residents Frater & Stent, Will Clarke and the highly rated Brett Gould, it would appear that those ambitions may just ring true. This summer will also see the label host it’s own nights in and around the clubs of Manchester and rest assured that when all the details are through we’ll be keeping you updated.
Now onto the part that interested me the most….

YES! The guesses were true, the mischievous trio, Axwell, Seb Ingrosso and Steve Angello, collectively known as the Swedish House Mafia, are going on a massive, Worldwide arena tour dubbed, “One Night Stand”, starting at Madison Square Gardens, New York on the 16th December, followed by the Milton Keynes Bowl on 14th July 2012, 2pm -11pm.
A trip to 230911.com will show you the same video we were greeted with on Friday night at 9:14pm making this announcement with a quirky, news bulletin style video production surrounding the rumours and the connection to the three dots.
Tickets go on sale on Thursday via the SHM Facebook Page and on Friday via TicketMaster and GigsAndTours.co.uk so book your tickets quick as they will almost indefinitely sell out very, very quickly.
They have also announced their new album, to be called One Night Stand, which will feature the Coldplay v SHM – Every Teardrop is a Waterfall track, SHM v Knife Party – Antidote and presumably many more of their dance floor smashers.
We will hopefully be there, will you?

Yep, you heard correctly. For some unknown reason, the World’s media has taken Paris Hilton chatting to Deadmau5 in a DJ booth and interpreted it as the brilliant DJ sharing his wealth of knowledge and skills with the infamous heiress to the Hilton fortune. Deadmau5 quickly replied on Twitter/Facebook stating,
“HEY WORLD… im not teaching Paris Hilton how to DJ. fuck already! she showed up to a show, and shit, ill be friendly to just about anyone who isnt a fuckin asshole. and she was respectful and polite, and all around nice to chat with, so i let her be a ghost… how the fuck does it end up all “im producing her next album” or “teaching her to be a DJ” if she wants to do whatever she wants, let er! i dont give a fuck… but why am i involved all of a sudden?”
I think the media annoyed the Canadian born superstar, do you?
