Warehouse Project – TEED style

Dance, Dress Up and Dinosaurs

As one of the Warehouse Project Online Team members, we’ve all been invited to tonight’s Halloween Special – Curated by Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (to be referred to as TEED from now on because, as much as I LOVE the name, it’s a bit lengthy!). Even if I didn’t have an invite, this is a date at WHP I’d still definitely want to come to and experience the guy behind a genre of music combining pop, electro, house and dance; not only does he have the coolest name in the industry, but Orlando Higginbottom is certainly one of the most interesting artists around who is not afraid to break down musical boundaries.

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs

Releasing his debut album ‘Trouble’ earlier this year, TEED have taken the music world by storm, with tracks such as ‘Your Love’ and ‘Household Goods’ proving to be a favourite on the radio airwaves as well as for remixers like Eats Everything and Mark Knight. It’s definitely worth listening to TEED’s Essential Mix too, further showcasing his musical talent and creativity, and a taster for what’s to come tonight if the line-up is anything to go by…

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinsaurs Essential Mix

Curated by TEED – WHP line-up

Showcasing a huge collection of some of the very best artists in new electronic dance music, tonight’s Halloween Special at WHP sees Orlando curating big names such as Derrick Carter, John Talabot, Matias Aguayo and Todd Terje, highlighting his own eccentric taste in the electronic music sphere and perhaps some of his own influences and inspirations. On the Factory Floor sees ‘pop-hip-house’ duo The 2 Bears, Jack of Friendly Fires & Edwin from Foals presenting Deep Shit, which personally I am very much intrigued to see, being a dedicated fan of both bands – it’ll be interesting to see how their sounds combine and what the duo bring to WHP under their own name.

Then there’s Daniel Avery, Mosca, and a special guest DJ set from Drop the Mustard; these guys never fail to put on an absolute stormer of a set so let’s see what bangers they’ll be blasting out later. Finally, Hypercolour Records take over room 3, where Huxley, Tom Demac, Alex Jones, Shenoda, Indigo, Ste Roberts and Cedric Maison finish off this electronic/dance-filled mix of a night thanks to TEED.

Get Your Dress Up On!

And, because it’s the official Halloween weekend, TEED has personally requested those who are going to get into the spirit and wear fancy dress – even going as far as suggesting on Twitter ‘If you haven’t had sex in a while you could come to Warehouse Project as a cobweb’ – good one Orlando! PLUS – WHP will be awarding the person with the best outfit tonight with lifetime free entry to WHP. Make your outfit count!

So for those of you going, go crazy with your dress-up, get raving and blow the roof off WHP tonight, TEED style.

Judge Jules Creamfields Set Download

Judge Jules began DJing professionally back in 1987. He was quickly hired by the then-pirate radio station Kiss FM. He has been on Radio 1 since October 1997. When he first arrived, his show went out between 17:00 and 19:00 on Saturday evenings, ahead of Danny Rampling’s show. From the 31st July 2004, after the departure of Seb Fontaine from the station, his show was moved to between 19:00 and 21:00 on Saturday nights, ahead of Tim Westwood. The show was widely advertised as, “The UK’s Saturday Warmup”, or “The Weekend Warm-Up”. One of the most infamous jingles used on the show during this time described it as, “The Sound Of Saturday Night”. The show kept this slot until September 2007.

During those years, his music policy ranged from playing commercial to underground tracks, and much in between. The first segment of the show were taken by the Cut-Up Boys, who did a ten-minute mix featuring several dance tracks and acappellas playing simultaneously. The rest of the first hour was generally taken up by house music and the second hour featured trance music, although if they were broadcasting the show outside the studio, the music might vary.
